Recruiting salespeople in DACH
Strong salespeople are almost never applying — they are on a quota they are hitting. You find them by mapping the companies that sell a comparable product into a comparable buyer, identifying the people doing that job at the right level, and approaching them personally with something specific about their own patch.

What actually predicts fit for a sales hire?
The similarity of the selling motion, not the job title. An AE selling a six-figure platform to CIOs and an AE selling a €50 tool to shop owners share a title and almost nothing else.
- Deal size and sales cycle length in their current role — the closest single proxy for fit.
- Who they sell to: technical buyer, finance, HR, owner-operator. Buyer access transfers; product knowledge does not.
- New business versus account management — very different work behind the same title.
- Tenure pattern: repeated 9-month stints are worth asking about, not automatically disqualifying.
- Whether they sold in a team with existing demand or built pipeline themselves.
How do you write to a salesperson so they reply?
Assume they receive more outreach than anyone else in the company and can identify a template instantly. Be short, be concrete about the patch and the product, and say what is different about the opportunity.
- Reference their actual segment or territory, not their job title.
- Name the product and who it sells to. Vagueness reads as a recruiter with no brief.
- Be honest about stage and team size — it filters correctly rather than wasting interviews.
- One follow-up after a week does most of the work. Salespeople understand a follow-up.
- Write in German for German-market roles unless the profile is clearly English-working.
How does tamo.ai handle a sales role?
You describe the role — product, buyer, deal size, market, seniority — and tamo maps the companies selling comparably, evaluates the people in those seats against your criteria, and returns a ranked shortlist with the evidence per requirement.
You approve who is worth approaching. Outreach then goes out from your own LinkedIn account, in German or English, with follow-ups and replies in a single inbox. Nobody is contacted without your approval.
